Dr. Manil Maskey is a highly accomplished Senior Research Scientist and Project Manager at NASA, with over 22+ years of experience spanning academia, industry, and government. As the leader of the NASA Science Mission Directorate's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Team as part of the open science initiative, Dr. Maskey is dedicated to advancing NASA's science research and application with AI. He also leads the advanced concepts team for the Inter-Agency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) and the data system evolution project Visualization, Exploration, and Data Analysis (VEDA). 


Dr. Maskey's work in these areas focuses on developing innovative data systems, machine learning, computer vision, and visualization solutions to address complex science problems. In addition to his work at NASA, Dr. Maskey is an affiliate faculty member at the University of Alabama in Huntsville Atmospheric Science department. He is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), where he serves as the chair of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) Earth Science Informatics Technical Committee. 


Dr. Maskey is also a member of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and the AGU Fall Meeting Planning Committee, the European Geosciences Union (EGU), and the Association for Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI).
