The overarching goal of the meeting is to roll out NASA’s AI/ML strategy for science and engage the science community for feedback on how they can embrace new technologies to implement AI/ML in their workflows to advance their analyses for new scientific discoveries.

Expected Outcomes

  • Report back to SMD management the opportunities and roadblocks for deeper integration of AI/ML workflows

    • Identification of gaps and understanding of SOTA

  • Provide the attendees with guidelines for putting ethical principles to practice (we should have the AGU report by Dec 2022)

  • Approaches for open sharing and collaboration of AI resources between centers

We need feedback from attendees on higher-level opportunities and roadblocks to greater use of AI/ML. Previous meetings were held in 2018.
